Summary

This is a classroom-based 1-day SCS-certified course in safe behaviour management training. It is available from SCS when requested to suit your schedule, with a minimum of 5 student enrollments required.

Safe behaviour management training is intended for supervisors and managers directly monitoring work and work behaviours in their organization, ensuring the best possible work practices are applied towards safety and loss control. This one-day course is part of the larger Det Norske Veritas Practical Leadership Skills program, and can be taken as a stand-alone course or as part of the larger curriculum.

Course Content

This training program focuses on the development of the manager or supervisor in ensuring that worker behaviours on a job site reflect an organizational commitment to safety and loss control.

Course topics include the following:

  • Reasons for addressing at risk behaviours
  • Behavioural intervention model for influencing behaviours
  • Five step process for applying safe behaviour management in the workplace

You will learn about identifying, addressing at-risk behaviours, and determining the best course of action in correcting them. This will include learning how to intervene in at-risk behaviours in a fashion that addresses the root cause of behaviour.

Prerequisites and PPE

You don’t need to complete any other courses or have any prior experience to enroll in this course. However, this course is recommended for staff in a supervisory or management role. You also don’t need to bring along any personal protective equipment (PPE).
