This is a classroom-based 1-day SCS-certified course in practical risk assessment training. It is available from SCS when requested to suit your schedule, with a minimum of 5 student enrollments required.
This practical risk assessment course provides you with skills essential for supervisors, managers, and health and safety officers of an organization: the ability to identify and quantify risk, and to uncover and develop solutions and controls that are practical to your organization, preserve your profit margin and increase your efficiency along the way.
Course Content
This training will help you assist your occupational health and safety team make effective, practical risk assessments for your organization. This practical risk assessment program, offered as part of the larger Det Norske Veritas Practical Leadership Skills Series, provides skills essential to the supervisory, management, and health and safety team membership, in the following topics:
- History and value of risk assessment as a process
- Effective risk assessment
- Team work required for successful risk assessment
- Major risk assessment methods
You will learn what effective risk assessment is, how it is performed, and how to measure it for performance and efficiency gains. You will also cover how teams are selected and assembled, how they are organized, and how accountability is gauged and monitored. And you will find out what risk assessment methods are established, how to implement and execute them, and what circumstances call for which method.
Prerequisites and PPE
You don’t need to complete any other courses or have any prior experience to enroll in this course. You also don’t need to bring along any personal protective equipment (PPE).
