Course Content
This hearing conservation training is meant for any Alberta worker. Participants will be educated to the standard of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code.
The course topics include the following:
- Regulatory requirements
- Occupational exposure limits
- Effects of noise on hearing
- Training in use of PPE
- Audiometric testing
- Individual responsibilities and non-occupational exposures
It also includes reinforcement on the importance of going back to work and reviewing the company’s policy on eliminating noise hazards and working on identifying noise sources in the workplace.
As part of the training, SCS will train students on the proper use of earplugs. Improper use can result in little or no protection, so as per CSA Standard Z94.2-02, we include individual training for optimum fit.
